EN ISO 14116 standard for protective clothing with limited flame spread
The EN ISO 14116 standard specifies requirements for workwear with flame-retardant materials. Garments under this standard must protect the user from incidental and brief contact with small flames. The garments will burn to a limited extent and extinguish on their own when the flame is removed.
Workwear with limited flame spread may consist of different garments and layers. All materials used have a limited flame spread index, as tested according to the ISO 15025 standard.
In addition, the clothing should not have covers on the legs, the clothing should have no conductive parts, there should be sufficient overlap between jacket and trousers and the seam strength should still be at least 30 Newton after five washes. Keep in mind that workwear with EN ISO 14116 is not suitable against heat hazards.
