Polyethylene terephthalate (PET, PETE or PETP)

Polyethylene terephthalate is a thermoplastic polyester and is also known as PET, PETE or PETP. The plastic is mainly used as a raw material for plastic bottles, food packaging and as an additive to textiles to make them stronger, such as in fleece jackets. PET is one of the strongest plastic materials and is therefore very hard-wearing, dimensionally stable and lightweight. In addition, PET is a very durable plastic. Thanks to PET's hard-wearing properties, the material can be reused many times. Moreover, PET is 100% recyclable.
