EN 511 protection against conduction cold and contact cold

EN 511 specifies the protection of work gloves against conduction and contact cold down to a temperature of -50°C. The standard comprises a range of three performance levels. These refer to specific protective properties of the glove, as defined in the list below. The higher the score for a performance level, the better protection the glove offers. In addition, work gloves that protect against cold must meet performance level 1 of abrasion and tear resistance, as defined in EN 388.

A: conduction cold (score 0-4)
B: contact cold (score 0-4)
C: water repellency (score 1 if no water penetration for at least 30 minutes, otherwise score 0)
