EN ISO 21420 general requirements for work gloves

EN ISO 21420 is the standard for the general requirements and testing procedures for work gloves. The standard specifies requirements on design and construction, harmlessness, comfort, efficiency, marking and information. These requirements apply to all forms of hand protection, such as arm guards, gloves and protective gloves.

The standard specifies strict requirements for the raw materials used, with strict limits for hazardous and substances of concern. For example, materials that come into direct contact with the skin must never cause irritation, allergic reactions or other health risks. In addition, the standard defines guidelines in terms of glove sizes and precision properties. Strict labelling requirements also apply. For example, a user must always be able to trace the production date and batch number, and gloves must have an expiry date.
