EN170 uv filters

European standard EN170 sets out the requirements for ultraviolet filters. These requirements include the minimum protection level of the UV filter and the maximum permeability of ultraviolet radiation. Level 2 and 3 filters provide protection against UV radiation and are covered by the EN170 standardisation. When too much UV radiation enters your eyes for a prolonged period of time, it can affect the transparency of your eyes. This can eventually lead to permanent vision loss. It is therefore important that your eyes are well protected from UV radiation when the work calls for it. Safety glasses with an EN170 standard classification contain lenses with UV filters that meet the established protection levels 2 and 3, and the maximum permeability of UV radiation. Please note that UV filters do not provide good protection against looking into an electric arc, but only against UV radiation.
