Nordic Swan Ecolabel
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the official eco-label for manufacturers from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. The label is similar to the Dutch Milieukeur. When a product carries the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, it means that the product is one of the least environmentally damaging in its category. Factors taken into account in the determination include the environmental impact of the energy used, hazardous chemicals, waste and packaging.
Nordic producers affiliated to the label must meet certain environmental, quality and health criteria. Every three years, detailed tests are carried out to determine whether a producer still meets the set criteria.
